Another New Addition

A month or so ago we started noticing a little kitten hanging around in the neighborhood.  It was really skittish and skinny and looked like no one was taking care of it.  We started putting milk out for it because, as Joey says, we'd far rather have a cat around than mice around.  It didn't seem to be getting any other nourishment and our neighbors didn't know of it belonging to anyone, so we started making a more concerted effort to cultivate its friendship.  It took some time, but the kitten has really warmed up to us...to the point that we were able to take him to the vet and get him his shots.  We put a collar on him and have claimed him as ours (law o' salvage).  Of course you don't really own cats...just kind of sponsor them.

Chapter had been really interested in the kitten from the first, but as we started paying kindly attention to it, he started getting pretty jealous.  He was tolerant, though, and gradually the two have become good friends.

We named the kitten Henry.  By coincidence we also have a rifle of the same name--a Golden Boy, it's called.  So we call the cat Henry Golden Boy Barbuto whenever we find it necessary to use his full name.
